Why Repair?
Cellphone telephony has reached its maximum level of saturation!
Why Repair?
A growth of a billion
cellphones per year.
The increasing trend continues with an annual growth of more than 30% and there is no signs of it diminishing.
In the last two years, United States have reached an alarming level of discarded cellphones. Almost 75 million devices were discard per year. That is 30% of the current 250 million lines in service.
Less than 2% of the total waste of electrical and electronic equipment(WEEE) placed in the market is recycled. Between 4%-6% of WEEE are from the technology sector. According to this, the levels of recycling and recovery are minimal if we take into account the 1.2 million annual tons of electronic waste United States generates.
Cellphones contain heavy metals and persistent toxic chemicals that are harmful for the environment.
In this sense, it is essential to reconsider recycling or reusing these mobile devices to promote environmental improvements. Fix Phone Center is committed to avoid environmental damages by repairing and pushing the idea of re-using your old devices. We believe it is vitally important that the community should become more aware the damages of discarded electronics do to the environment as it goes into recycling.
